Today with our partner Envirorally we are launching an exciting new event for Global Entrepreneurship Week. A zero carbon motoring event driving  green innovation. The inaugural LeZero ‘rally’ will be held in November and run 1,300km from Paris to Venice. Winning teams will be those with the lowest carbon ratio ‘emissions’. The event will run in the lead up to COP28.

Climate change conscious drivers and their vehicles are invited to take part in this brand new rally that sees entrants strive for the lowest carbon emissions. There are two categories for entrants – Adventurer and Competition. The ‘Adventurer’ allows entrants to complete the 1,300km route, which passes through four countries, at their own pace. They will set off on or after the 12th November with the aim of crossing the finish line on 25th November. Also pushing for the finish line will be the Competition category with entrants leaving Paris a week later on 19thNovember. However, as well as the route, they will also face the additional challenge of both timed and speed sections similar to historic rally formats.

Organised by non-profit foundation Envirorally, director Clara Stone explains: “Le Zero was created to celebrate the historic Paris Agreement, and to champion the development of breakthrough net zero innovation with a zero carbon race to zero. It is the first event of its kind, and we are thrilled to be working with some amazing partners in bringing this event to fruition.

“The inaugural race starts in Paris where the race to zero began, passing along some of the most scenic roads of Europe, finishing in Venice – the oldest city of the future.”

Open to any zero carbon vehicle, each team must contain a minimum of two members as driver and navigator.
